After 14 years of being together, there are too many meaningful moments that come to mind. Whether it is Kim rejecting Tafara twice before finally deciding to give him a chance - or breaking into the same Miller's that we went on their first date to at the depths of the night (we didn't steal anything...we promise).

We met and started talking through church.
The beginning
Our first date was at Miller's - a grillhouse in Zimbabwe. We both had steak. Kim was wearing a denim skirt.
Our first date
The proposal was on Sunday, 9 February, but the games began the day before. It started with a Saturday morning escape room from her bedroom. Once she found the key to get out, she was greeted by Tafara’s family holding huge cards that read, “Will you… go away with me?” She hilariously thought it was a trip for the whole family.
The Proposal
The Roora was on 14 June at Kim’s family home in Ballantyne Park, Harare. Tafara was represented by a capable cohort of family members who secured the deal, and everyone celebrated once the negotiations were complete. The day included lunch and a braai, filled with joyful smiles and family pride.
It was one of the best days of Tafara and Kim’s lives.

I love that he embodies his name - he brings joy and laughter to everyone around him.
We spent the rest of Saturday swimming in the sun and having a joyful jol with family. Afterwards, Kim and Tafara left for a getaway. On Sunday morning, they woke up and headed out for a hot-air balloon ride, which was another surprise. Tafara popped the question while they were both 3,000 feet above the ground.
From facing the fire and conquering the Wits University Edge, to many travels together. We could go on and on. What is clear is we intend to keep living life to the fullest possible extent.
